I received this tub as a shower gift and thought once looking at it that the tub would be wonderful. Once i started using the tub, my thoughts changed dramatically. It was extremely hard for me to bathe my daughter by myself. She slipped around constantly even while i tryed to hold her still. To add water to the tub to a level that covered my daughter enough to help keep her warm and comfortable, caused the water to flow out over the henges where the tub was assembled to be folded. I also just didn't like the position that it put my daughter in while using the tub. She looked extremely uncomfortable. This tub might be Ok for older babies but in my opinion not for newborns. So, Good Luck! 25 of 25 people found the following review helpful: By A Customer This review is from: Safety 1st Space Saver Fold-Up Bath Tub (Baby Product) I liked using this tub in my baby's first six months because, although I could use my kitchen sink, this tub made it easier for me to wash the baby since the grips underneath helped to keep her stable. This tub also fits into the kitchen sink, so it's at a great height, much easier than the kind you sit in the big bathtub. I prefer using this tub for the newborn, then getting a swivel seat when baby can sit up. The two or four in one stations seem bulky and take up a lot of space. Besides, when baby is old enough to sit up, it's time to get used to the big tub and the swivel seat provides safety and security while also being actually in the big tub. 64 of 73 people found the following review helpful: By Mitch (El Paso, TX United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Safety 1st Space Saver Fold-Up Bath Tub (Baby Product) Newborns quickly learn to love bath time. It's a great bonding experience between the child and his or her parents. As the eldest of five children, and having a sister with 4 kids whom I helped care for before I had my first, I thought I knew all about bath time. Wrong. A baby who cannot sit is difficult to wash safely. It's torture and leads to severe back pain bending over into the tub to wash a small infant, even with a "tub" in the "big tub". Furthermore it's slippery and dangerous. Although I have washed many babies in the sink, that's very difficult when the child is less than 3 months old. This tub is the easiest, most convenient and safest tool the accomplish that task. Why? - Because it fits in your kitchen sink!!! Although the water may slosh over the side, that's a small price to pay to wash the child safely and comfortably (for you). The foam pad is also comfortable for the child and as he/she gets older (3-6 months), it allows them to lay comfortably...Read more |
