We are using this to track my mother who is in hospice in her bedroom. Here are some facts that may influence your decision to as to whether to buy this unit or a different one.
Pros: Inexpensive. Does the job it claims to do. Picks up even subtle sounds.
Cons: Does not charge battery. So you are either using it powered, or running it off the un-rechargeable battery, or have it off. At 49MHz, it's "buzzy". Has what could be a very annoying hum to try to sleep by. Also, it is extremely sensitive to RFI, (radio frequency interference). After reading the reviews, I bought it anyway because we had a good experience with this brand of monitors in the past. I have come to believe it is hit or miss with this type of monitor. Ours was a dud. It must be the luck of the draw. I tried all of the trouble shooting suggestions and nothing worked.

This monitor not only has to much statitic but it goes through one 9 volt battery every few days and we don't use it any time execpt when the baby is taking her nap. 9 volt are probably the most expensive battery. Invest in a nicer model and you'll save money in the end.
