The grip itself is made of sturdy plastic and of good quality. The levers that actuate the suction cups are well built. That said, like any other suction cup attached grip, this device should not be relied upon for heavy support, more just to help maintain one's balance when moving about a tub or other area. If you require no-fail support, get a grip that screws into the wall studs. If the top of your tub is narrow, and/or rounded, and/or has a rough surface, the suction cups will not adhere; a surface of at least 4 inches that is flat and smooth are needed for the suction cups to firmly attach. Another caution is that over time the suction may weaken; test for stability before putting any weight on it.

Great invention. My whirlpool tub is in the center of the bathroom so there are no walls to hold on to. It also helps hold the towels so I can dry without getting too much water on the floor. It does get loose from the suction cups sometimes, but that's no biggie for me. It's cheaper than hiring a pro to install actual hardware grips if it were even possible.

I am a RN for a hospice agency. We purchesed this product, along with two other safety bars for one of our patients. We are very happy with it, as is he. The suction cups grip tightly to the sides of his shower stall, and bath tub. It is easy to attach, and very easy to relocate as needed. Overall very pleased with this product.
