Large Smart Guard Medicine Safe

If your really trying to keep your child safe purchase the Lock-Med box. They don't have the large size on Amazon but the Lock-med site sells it directly and the price is comparable to the Smart Guard box. I made the mistake of purchasing two of the Smart Guard boxes and they are both broken. The lid on the Smart Guard box is flimsy and the plastic hinges at the rear of the box do not hold up making the entire box useless. I wish I would have done more research and saved my money. I hope this review is helpful to others.

I ordered this on a Wednesday, it arrived that Friday, and it broke on Sunday. It's cheap, brittle plastic. Despite the hinge break, just enough remains for me able to use this, it is a good size. And there is no way on Earth my 15 month old could break into it, although every time I turn the lock it feels like the whole safe is going to break into pieces. But that hinge is going to snap all of the way off pretty soon, so I went out to my local hardware store and bought a toolbox. The closures are secure, more secure that this safe, and I have the option to add a small padlock when my son gets older. It cost $12. And the medicine safe? I use to to store cosmetics. Well, until it finally falls apart, which won't be long.

The concept here is good, but execution is terrible. The tray on the inside does not stay in place, causing objects to shift and get all mixed up inside... and the plastic hinge broke after about a week. The "lock" is nearly impossible for even an adult to use, which causes frustration. This item is not worth the trouble. Find a better one!
