I ordered this product because of the rave reviews and I am cloth diapering. I wanted something more protective than California Baby's diaper cream when baby gets a rash. I used it for the first time yesterday and realized that it has salicylic acid in it, which is another term for aspirin. I wish I had noticed this when purchasing, but Grandma El's doesn't list this as an active ingredient which I think is odd; salicylic acid actively works as a skin exfoliant and that's probably why it's an ingredient in this product. Though there has not been enough research on Reye's syndrome and topical aspirin, I am not comfortable using an aspirin product on baby's skin because of the link of Reye's with aspirin. I was told by my doctor not to use salicylic acid during pregnancy and a lactation consultant told me not to use it on my skin while breastfeeding, so why would I use it on baby's most sensitive skin? Plus it smells like artificial strawberries, sort of like scratch and sniff...Read more

After having used california baby, angel baby bottom balm, and a couple of other "cloth diaper friendly" creams, I tried this one, and it is by far the one I prefer. It is more expensive than the california baby diaper cream, but is worth the price. The texture is much better and easier to apply than the angel baby bottom balm.
I use the Grandma El's and coconut oil. I use Grandma El's for night time, because it is thicker than coconut oil (it is nice to put a thicker layer of cream on the skin because you change your baby less often than during the day), and coconut oil during the day (because I like using cream at every diaper change, and coconut oil is so inexpensive and also very efficient) And I have a california baby cream tube in my diaper bag for outings (When I find a convenient way to pack coconut oil, I will just use coconut oil, which I store in a jar for the moment)
Btw, If you want to go green and are looking for a cheaper and safe alternative to diaper rash...Read more

Okay, so yes, this diaper cream is a little bit on the pricey side, BUT it works wonders. AND it is cloth diaper safe, no liner needed! My daughter doesn't break out in a rash, but once in awhile her butt gets red. If I put this on her butt she is always free of any redness at the next diaper change. It works fast. It feels nice and smooth, too, spreads on wonderfully and it smells nice. I recommend it to all my cloth diapering friends. Totally worth the price!
